YEARS OF CARE
There were so many people who needed help and support their establishment and voice for a social movement. In regards of several injustice events and lack of support system for Employers, a group of 5 people have gathered together. Mr. Faisal P.P. who is founder of this association with team work of Shally Thomas, Robert and his wife Kunjumol, Mustafa, Jabbar, Navas Vayalkara and rooted for forming a committee. In 2018, we realized the need for an association and decided to establish hostel Owner Association during the meeting in Mecca Auditorium. An organizing committee was formed and several people were elected and honoured to be the executive members. Mr. Ismael, who was the organizer and guide with several tears of experience helped us enormously with everything from forming a committee and establish an association. Saji Varghese was elected as the President, Navas Mulloth as vice president Shally Thomas the Secretary and Faisal P.P. Treasurer. Mustafa, Jamsheed, Jabbar, Antony CK, Nahas were the first executive members.
The planned committee have created some agendas which include to add new members and memberships, create a bank account, divide and work as small teams for each locality.
We rented the office room as a requirement for registration. The money for the rental was sponsored by some of the first members and executive members due to lack of funding in the beginning phase. We reinforced adding new members from different parts of Ernakulam such as Kadavanthra, Kaloor etc. We were forced to vacate the old office building and relocated to Shally’s Kadavanthra hostel due to insufficient funds. Our initial membership fee was rupees 100. We have resolved more than 100s of issues raised by hostel owner members. From their our voyage was successful and we were able to do some charitable work which includes 2018’s big Flood hit. We were able to provide provision and monitory help. We have also sponsored 21 smart mobile phone’s for children education needs in Chellanam. We have also supported by providing monitory help one of our members for his/her kidney replacement. We raised funds and provided shelter for Chellanam. We also raised fund and supported people affected by landslide in Nilambur. These are only some of the works we did from many. Our association is growing massively and we are providing services to everyone. We had a tough situation during covid. However we were still able to support our members regarding the rental and gave interviews and raised our voice and concerns to Chief minister and to public.
Our mission is to promote safe, secure, and enjoyable hostel experiences around the world and to foster a spirit of solidarity and cooperation between hostel owners and guests. We strive to educate and inform hostel owners as well as the public about hosteling, and to provide resources and support to ensure their successful operations.
We are providing a safe and secure living environment for hostel guests, promoting safety and security protocols for hostel staff, and advocating for fair and respectful treatment of hostel guests. The association also seeks to build strong community relationships within the hostel network by providing resources and education to enhance the overall hostel experience.
